BEALE STREET BLAST- 2009-FIRES UP PREACHER AND YIELDS FRUIT IN HOME TOWN
Saturday evening at about 6 pm, (coming home from the Beale Street Blast) I held my banner next to a busy 4 lane highway near Red Level, Alabama. I did this because I was under conviction from Earl Ankrom's preaching about "your own streets" not just Beale Street.
God did the convicting, not Br. Earl.
Traffic was slow so I preached to a gopher turtle crossing the 4 lane road. Many passing cars saw the banner. A few waved, most ignored, and some seemed to be offended because the banner said "The blood of Jesus will wash away
YOUR sins. Evidently, they didn't have any sins. . . Standing there, I prayed Dear Lord, let me talk to someone for you. Not long after that, a truck stopped at the intersection across the street from me at a stop sign, turned left, then did a U-turn and parked behind me on
another street. (I don't think the driver saw me or the banner yet) The driver (a 21 year old young man) got out of his truck, grabbed a belt and with a mean look on his face started walking toward me (I thought he was gonna come whup me, so I flexed up my muscles as best
I could KINDA make him think I was a little bigger than he thought) but he walked to the edge of the road trying to catch the gopher turtle. (I still don't think he saw me yet) As he was walking back from the turtle, I said hey man. At this time, he finally looked at me, eye to eye, then looked up at the banner. I said what do you think about heaven, about Jesus, have you ever considered where you will spend eternity? That guy said, "Ya know, I've been wondering
about that." I said, fellow, if you have a few minutes, I want to tell you about Jesus. I got my Bible, showed him he was lost, showed the penalty, show him the payment, and showed him the Savior.
That young man trusted Jesus Christ as his savior that afternoon!! PRAISE GOD. . . Before he left, I told him that I was the pastor of a small church a few miles down the road, he said I'll see you in church. I thought that I would never see him again until heaven (How many times
you preachers ever heard, "I'll be in church".) But praise God he did come to church Sunday and he brought a girl friend and she raised her hand during the invitation that day. I didn't really get to talk to her much, but she did promise to talk with me about the decision that
she made. Praise God Praise God. Just wanted to share what God did the Saturday that I came home from the Blast. I needed the Blast to fire me up and God gave me some fruit. I love LOVE serving God.

Follow up note:
I have to tell you, this was my 2nd blast and Lord willing, it will NOT be my last.
I pray that the people on Beale Street get some help from the ministry. But I and some more preachers NEED the blast also to get us motivated and fired up for the work of the Lord. THANK YOU for doing everything that ya'll do to host the Blast. Lord willing, I will see ya'll next May.
